Marie Collins

Marie Collins is a PhD Candidate at the University of New Hampshire researching curriculum theory & teacher education. She has held a variety of roles at tUNH during her tenure, including professor of ethics in education, supervisor of teaching interns, course designer & student advisor to the Sustainability Institute, and most recently as a community engagement ambassador to the graduate school. She is also a co-founder of Cultivate and co-lead organizer of Farm-a-Q and the New England BIPOC Festival. Marie brings over a decade of experience as an educator, instructional designer, and community organizer to her leadership position at Cultivate. She has provided coaching on instructional design, ethical decision making and effective facilitation strategies for educators working in public and private learning settings, university faculty, university students, leadership teams with corporate entities, and non-profit organizations. She started her career as a primary school teacher working on the international circuit in Nigeria & Cote d’Ivoire, where she founded sustainability programs that built networks with local organizations, implemented sustainable practices and developed curriculum around issues of environmental justice. She lives in Southern Maine with her partner Tyler and their Belgian Shepherd, Wahala.
